#BookTherapy2021 – October

📚 October Book or otherwise Self-awareness – "You do you" by Sarah Knight.

Books say it's the best companionship. Some of them you can absorb in an afternoon. But some accompany you for life and each time they have something different to give you. So we come this last evening of November with the favorite book of October. Because some books need to sit a little longer with you.

It started as a simple self-awareness book, one of those cute ones with an extra dose of humor and all the elements that books in this category have, which are often dismissed by some. What new does it have to give me that the previous ones haven't already?

The author begins by calling a meeting. A meeting between you and yourself to begin the first clearings. What does it mean to be present at this meeting? What do you two have to say? As soon as you are comfortable with each other, the dusting and decluttering begins. First you drive away and no one makes peace with the No's. Then it's their turn. Once you've hopefully gotten this far, you're faced with the Must's! How could this book have been read in a month?!

And where you write, erase, think, decide and turn the page, you see the end! A blank page! The beginning says now it's yours. So is the decision, where you will go from here on. The help so far was. The book brings you face to face with yourself again, but now you are different. You are one!

It is not a book that gives you ready-made solutions. It's a book that's there when you need it. Which exonerates you, shakes you and will tell you the truth, even if it hurts! It is a book that definitely leaves you better. How much in common with psychotherapy! Maybe that's why it took more time than we thought at first!

You can take a look at last month's book here and put it on your next reading and why not, on your library shelf
