We recently shared with you the world's first drugstore, Poetry Pharmacy in the British city of Bishops Castle, which prescribes poetry instead of drugs, and so we were inspired for Book Club 2020 next book.
Deborah Alma invites her "patients" where, after asking them a series of questions, she then "prescribes" poems she has carefully selected. The poems are "administered" with the aim of reducing the symptoms of daily stress, work exhaustion, stress and depression. At the same time, he confirms that one of the best drugs of the soul is undoubtedly the book.
Recognizing the value of the arts, she was then able to bring to life in her own way, a book on the pages of which was first set up a small floating bookshop, in a boat in France where its owner was prescribing literature. Just as a psychotherapist must always begin her own journey of self-awareness, so the author and the hero of the book embark on a journey of literature, life and soulsearching.
Being staunch supporters of new ventures aimed at humans, of seeking inspiration from the people around us, of books but especially of psychotherapy, the second book for Book Club 2020 and the month of February we recommend is Nina George's "The Little Parisian Bookstore".
” “Books are more than doctors, of course. Some novels are loving, lifelong companions; some give you a clip around the ear; others are friends who wrap you in warm towels when you've got those autumn blues. And some...well, some are pink candy floss that tingles in your brain for three seconds and leaves a blissful voice. Like a short, torrid love affair.”.”
Perhaps in this book you might find a first aid literary box. You might also find some recipes. Or love. Or a piece of yourself.
